Access to the Tax Office

For a tax consultant to file your declarations, they need access to your tax portal. In the Netherlands, this is done through Machtigen.

Procedure for Granting Access

1. The tax consultant submits an access request through the Machtigen website. This requires:

• BSN number
• Date of birth
• Email address

1. The client receives an email about the access request, goes to the Machtigen website, and grants access.
2. The tax consultant receives confirmation and can access the client's tax portal via DigID or EHerkenning.

Advantages

1. The client does not share their DigiD login credentials.
2. The client can revoke access at any time by withdrawing the authorization.
3. Authorizations are granted for specific actions (e.g., filing declarations). This prevents your DigiD from being used to access other government services.
4. Authorizations are always granted for a specific period and are renewed when necessary.
