Applying for Child Benefit for Ukrainian Refugees

Are you a refugee from Ukraine and working in the Netherlands? Then you can receive child benefit, even if you work on a temporary contract or as an entrepreneur.

Have you received a letter about child benefit? This means an application has been prepared for you in Mijn SVB. The working parent can submit the application through Mijn SVB using DigiD. The application is available in Dutch and English.

Have not received a letter, but are working in the Netherlands? You can also apply for child benefit.

Child Benefit and Child Budget

Are you receiving child benefit and is your income below a certain amount? You may be eligible for an additional child budget from the tax authorities. This is extra assistance for families with children.

Are you receiving healthcare allowance or housing allowance? Then you do not need to submit a separate application for the child budget — the tax authorities will notify you automatically.

Not receiving any allowances from the tax authorities? Submit an application for the child budget independently.

Termination of Payments

Is your work in the Netherlands ending? Then child benefit payments also stop. You must report changes as soon as possible, otherwise you will have to repay overpaid amounts.
